Labels:monitor | reckoner | sky OCR: The beautifully restored Round Barn was built in 1898 and is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Locals say that when the barn was built the acoustics were so good that pin drop could be heard from one side of the barn to the other. The round barn was built earlier than most sites along Route 66. In the 1800's local farmer realized the smaller farms in the area needed place to store gr rain and feed near the railroad. The farmer convinced host of his peers to pitch in and built the round barn as co-operative Luckily this building has survived.
